Pool Excavation and Concrete Collar Work in Foristell

This Foristell pool build is moving right along. Concrete collar day is one of those milestones that doesn't get a lot of attention - but it should. It's the step that locks the pool walls into place and keeps everything stable for the long haul. Skip it or rush it, and you're setting yourself up for problems down the road.

Here's what we were working with - a steel wall pool panel system set into a properly excavated and graded hole, with gravel base work already done beneath the structure. Getting the excavation right from the start is what makes every step after it cleaner and easier. The grade, the depth, the backfill prep - it all matters.

When the concrete mixer pulls up, the site has to be ready. The walls need to be plumb, the base needs to be solid, and the surrounding ground needs to be properly graded so the pour goes exactly where it's supposed to. That's the excavation and grading work doing its job behind the scenes.

A lot of homeowners focus on the fun stuff - the finish, the tile, the deck. And that's totally fair. But none of that holds up if the groundwork underneath it wasn't done right. We take the early stages seriously because that's where the quality of the whole project gets decided.

This one is coming together nicely. The steel panels are set, the collar pour is underway, and the site is clean and organized. That's what good excavation work looks like in practice - everything in its place before the next trade ever shows up.
