This one is a big job - and it's still going. We're mid-build on a full backyard landscaping overhaul that touches pretty much every corner of the property. Fresh planting beds, new plants, drip irrigation, dark mulch, and reworked hardscaping elements all coming together around a stunning stamped concrete pool deck.
The hardscaping side of this is where things really stand out. Large natural boulders are being used to build out retaining walls and define grade changes across the yard. It gives the whole space a rugged, built-into-the-land feel - not the kind of look you get with standard block walls. That rock isn't just decorative either. It's doing real structural work, holding back soil and creating clean, defined levels throughout the yard.
On the other side of the pool, we reworked a planting bed with brick edging and river rock - a nice detail that keeps things low maintenance while still looking polished. The drip irrigation running through the beds means the new plants get consistent water right at the roots without wasting anything or creating runoff issues along the stamped concrete.
The area out front is still raw - prepped soil waiting on topsoil and sod. That's the next step, and it's going to tie everything together once that grass comes in. Right now you can see the bones of the whole layout, and it's already clear how intentional the planning was. Every element - stone, plant placement, drainage, edging - is working together.
Projects like this don't happen fast, but doing it right the first time is what makes the difference long-term. A setup with drip irrigation, proper edging, and quality mulch means less weeding, less watering, and less maintenance down the road. We're looking forward to showing the finished product once the sod goes down.
